The only two things I would add to this application are: 1.) Allow the pings to be scheduled and the result of the scheduled ping to be auto saved. 2.) I would like to see the ICMP jitter output. Other than that this application seems pretty solid. 3.) Change the default settings and keep them after you close the application. For me they always get reset after I close the application. 4.) When saving check to see if the same name is used and if it is update the existing entry. Oh and it might be good to come up with an icon for your application.

save / load / preferences works in a strange unpredictable way and seem to need restart after changing the settings sends only 100 packets when set to continuous mode. good app but needs a bit of work.

It only gets 3 stars because there's no summary report and it doesn't show the timeouts. It's a good app though, and one of the few with configurable ping interval down to fractions of a second.

So close . Great, but doesn't show ping 'request timed out' when doing a simple ping for some reason. Also, cont. pings don't offer summary stats.

I can't clear "localhost" from the server box. It keeps pasting "localhos" or something like it when I hit the backspace.

Serious problems typing in hostnames with Google keyboard. Doesn't print statistics at the end of a continuous ping session.

About this app

Ping is a network utility program used to test if a remote (or local) host is running and can be connected to. It is also used to measure the round-trip delay (or latency) in communicating with the host and the rate of packet loss.

Features include:
- Choose number of times to ping or set continuous mode (keep pinging until stopped)
- A unique ping flood mode which provides a rapid visual display of packets sent and received and shows how quickly the host or server is responding
- Set interval between ICMP ping requests (as low as 0 seconds)
- Control the size of ICMP packets to send
- Set Time To Live (TTL) to control the number of hops the packet can go through
- Set timeout
- Options to disable to fragmentation of packets and allow pinging broadcast IP addresses
- Save and load hosts and IP addresses
- Email ping results

Ping Free supports both 3G and Wifi connections. Currently, only IPv4 is supported as IPv6 is not widely available on Android phones yet.
