About this app

The Liberty Bell platform helps those involved in research, mobility and planning to better understand the experiences of different people while walking or cycling.

This app works with a connected bicycle bell or wrist band to pass the location and time each instance they are activated, to the Liberty Bell platform. A record is only created when a participant rings their connected bicycle bell, or pushes the button on their connected wristband. Each time this happens, participants are then invited to categorise and describe why, including if it was a positive or a negative experience.

After being anonymised, these insights are shared with planners and researchers. This data helps them identify barriers, and to how best they might focus resources on priority areas to improve conditions for everyone who wants to get about by active travel.

NB: This is a utility app - it's purpose is to connect to specifically developed hardware with the Liberty Bell server. There is no point in installing this app without the hardware and a user account with the Liberty Bell platform.
