One of the few apps that can record continuously for longer periods of time. Note that there are *two* frequency settings you need to configure in order to up your sampling rate - 'update interval' and 'recording interval'. Also, don't forget to disable Android's automatic battery options for the app.

This app is excellent! It allows monitoring and logging the phone's sensors. I'm conducting experiments involving long-term temperature and magnetic field readings converted to audio (sped up significantly) and this app is perfect for use in this project!

NMEA strings don't appear in Android 10. They seem to work in previous Android versions. I tested on multiple phones.

If you want to poll the sensors from your phone accelerometer AND have it keep working with the screen off, this is the only app of the 20 or so i tried that works. Reports actual times data was polled as well, and has configurable sampling intervals (though these can be set to go faster than the sensors themselves update) If you are doing any science projects with accelerometers, this is the perfect app to use as a trial setup - you can get good data out of any reasonable modern phone and have your methodology worked out before (or depending on your needs, instead of) paying for an expensive custom system.

The best apps for data collection from sensor, out there. Every other app, is either buggy or sends incomplete data and shows up during data cleaning and by this time, it feels like a waste of effort. The best part is the way the data is formatted in CSV wherein every datapoint is timestamped into a single file. It's the best app for aspiring ML and DS aspirants to collect data and build amazing data pipelines.

This app is great! I was getting that "black screen during phone calls" problem after upgrading to Android 7.1.1 (Nougat) which I didn't have when the phone was Android 5.1.1 (Lollipop). This app confirmed that the sensor was fine (especially since it wasn't blacking out before the upgrade). So I punched a binder ring sized hole in the plastic screensaver, right over the proximity sensor area of the phone's screen. (On Nexus 6 it's left of upper speaker.) Easy fix thanks to Androsensor!
