the app is improved since December when Balance started requiring members to sign up for classes. I can sign up for classes a week in advance, cancel easily and check in onsite. it's not fancy but it does the job. there is also an internal "leaderboard" by week and month. I guess as a gym its obligated to full some competition.

I'd give negative five stars if I could. Here are a number of things you cannot do with this app: Sign in at the gym (it does have the option, which just displays a barcode to scan, but according to front desk staff this doesn't work.) Schedule workouts (the gym wants you to register for all classes you want to go to, but you can't do this via the app because it does not contain any class schedule except for crossfit classes.) Be reminded of classes you registered for (It sent me a reminder for a class about twelve hours after the class). Oh,and the app only works if you give it access to your lovcation, and it uses that to send you a notification to sign in whenever you are within a ten-block-radius of the gym. All in all, completely useless.

Vastly improved, works well now! While this app used to be very buggy, it now works well! users can check into the gym and sign up for classes with just a few taps!
