I enjoyed using app. It was cool to be able to check my heart rate and O2 saturation levels, along with seeing stats from hikes and bike rides. But with the latest update, I am now locked out unless I give permission/access to my contacts, phone, and other things, all for features I have zero interest in using. There is no choice, it's either give up all my contacts info, phone permission, etc, or I cannot open the app at all. I wish I could opt out of that feature BEFORE giving access.

This was a great app utill it tried to force me to allow the app to make and manage phone calls. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! ***Answering the reply*** There is NO WAY ON THE PLANET that I am giving Samsung access to everything on my phone. That is ridiculous. I had a 5-star rating on this app. It should be my choice if I want additional features or need them. I DON'T. Put it back the way it way and get your nose out of my private life.

Overall I like this app. But I am SO annoyed about the idiotic design issue with the sleep tracking. It regularly thinks I am asleep when the watch is on the charger. And then the app asks, "Were you asleep during this time?" But there is no way to say NO to that question!! Why in the WORLD would you ask a yes or no question, and then not give us the ability to answer with a no??? Edited to add, the developer contact info listed here is a NO REPLY email address! That is just wrong 😡

LOVED this app. It worked well and I used it EVERY day . . . until they locked me out for not giving in to some authoritarian telephone call thing. After checking these ratings, I see I am not the only one dealing with that craziness. I realize privacy and freedom are already disappearing elements of a foregone life (especially with these devices), but I'm going to resist and hang on by my fingernails as long as I can. Crazy! As much as I loved you, so long, Samsung Health!

Since the update, the app stalls at the two-step verification stage: it gets caught in a feedback loop, first asking whether I agree to the privacy policy, then asking me to verify, and then taking me back to the first step asking me to agree to the privacy policy. I've tried different phone numbers, to no avail. It has rendered the whole app inoperable.

I have used this app as a pedometer for years, and have often been notified that I'm in the top 2% or 3% of users. It has always worked well until recently, but as of late I'm so frustrated I'm ready to look for something else because it's not counting steps properly. This morning is a prime example--I ran 4 miles on a treadmill, in addition to a fair amount of walking around at home and at the gym. It tells me that after all that I had only gone a little over 6000 steps and traveled 3.69 miles--that level of activity should put me at close to 10k steps and at least 4.5 miles. I have had similar results on many days over the past month or so. It seems to me that Samsung has gotten so concerned about requiring unnecessary authentications and phone access that they are defeating the reason for people to use the app to begin with.
