cannot even begin to take a note! also the sync seems to be automatic, I cannot choose a path to my Dropbox.

Update: the 6th May 2019 update seems to have solved the Sync and Settings crashes. *Many* thanks! :) Star rating back! I like having an on-device copy of my Simplenote notes, so I'm not dependent on the cloud. === Since the 27th March 2019 update, my copy crashes when I try to sync with Simplenote and also on trying to access Setting. Hence low star rating. Asus ME173X tablet, Android 4.2.2.
