About this app

This app requires users to enter earth station antenna diameter (m), overall efficiency percentage, signal frequency (MHz) and system noise temperature (K). Hit "Calculate" and the app returns antenna gain in dB, Ts in dBK and the G/T ratio in dBK. For example, enter diam. = 30, Efficiency = 68, f = 4150 and system noise temperature (SNT) Ts = 79, hit "Calculate" and you should get Gain = 60.6 (dB), Ts (dBK) = 19.0 and G/T (dB/K) = 41.7.

If you change SNT = 88 K in the case of heavy rain, then Ts = 19.4 and G/T = 41.2.
