About this app

SpectrumViewer is a graphing utility for displaying the contents of gamma-ray spectrum files.

The file formats currently supported are:
● ANSI N42.42 (2006 and 2012 versions)
● IAEA ASCII (.spe)
● ORTEC Binary (.spc and .chn)
● Simple 1 column (counts) or 2 column (channel, counts) ASCII (.txt) with an optional 1 line header containing: nChannels, liveTime, realTime, energyZero, gain, and quad terms.

Two graph options are provided. A condensed semi-log plot, and a scrolling expanded plot where where linear, semi-log, and square root plots may be selected.

If a background spectrum is contained in the file, it can be plotted as raw, or liveTime normalized to the foreground spectrum.

Calibration Data and a number of other items (metadata) that are included in the spectral data file are displayed on a "Header Data" screen.
