This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing Profile Widget on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. If the APK file does not automatically open with BlueStacks, right-click on it and select 'Open with...', then navigate to BlueStacks. Alternatively, you can drag-and-drop the APK file onto the BlueStacks home screen.

Good app. Works well. It is clear and simple to operate. Timer mode works well. Other apps like this iether dont work or are so complex that setting them up is a real pain and they are unreliable. This app is the best and most reliable i have found. Minor change would be possible to add a timed scheduler ?

Pretty well perfect even, on the latest Android. Only annoying issue is the desktop icon has no text under it so is never aligned correctly. Hence 4*

Modified: years later and this app is still my most used and appreciated app. Some time ago after buying a new phone I had slight trouble with it and I moved my rating to 4, sadly I forgot to move it back to 5 shortly after the author helped me with it. Initially: The free version didn't have many features but worked properly so I splurged on the 99 cents :-) This is the best profile app I have layed eyes on, clean and simple user interface, does everything I want it to do and nothing that I don't. Best of all, all features work perfectly with no glitches. I'm really happy that I can now adjust profiles like we used to - but better! Best of all, maker has amazing response time I've seen to questions. After updates: only getting better, no negatives.

Has a minor issue on Marshmallow, other than that, very useful widget. Only using this you can change many settings only with two taps. And now with Tasker you don't have to press anything and you can see your profile right on your homescreen. No more Android power control widget wasting my screen space.

About this app

Profile Widget is an app that helps you manage profiles for your phone.

These profiles can handle:
* Volume (ring, notification, alarm, system and multimedia) .
* Vibration.
* Default phone ringtone.
* Default notification ringtone.
* Wi-Fi status.
* Mobile data status (Android 2.x, 3.x, 4.x).
* Bluetooth status.
* Screen timeout.
* Screen brightness.
* Automatic data sync.
* Airplane Mode (Android 2.x, 3.x, 4.0.x).

The profiles can be activated both from the app itself and from the home screen widget provided. To add the widget, you just have to long press on an empty space on the desired home screen and select Widgets -> Profile Widget.

The home screen widget can be customized for each profile with 25 colors (6 in Lite version) and 49 icons (5 in Lite version).

Also, if you don't want to use the widget, there's the option to add shortcuts to activate the profiles to the homescreen.

From version 4.0 on, Profile Widget integrates with Tasker and Locale.

With this app you can easily switch your phone from, say, a vibration+no sound mode to a full volume mode to a completely silent mode with just a single click!.

About the permissions: the app now asks permission to read the phone state, just in order to change the volume of the calls when the phone is ringing (the only way of separating notification and ringer volume in Android 4.0+). It cannot do anything else with this information, since it does NOT have Internet access, call or SMS permissions.
