The issue isn't actually the apps fault but I'd be glad if you found a way around it. My huawei y5 lite has a very aggressive battery saver that shuts down every and any speed meter I install. I'd give a 5 star review if I managed to fix this. And no switching off battery optimization for the app doesn't work either.
