Installation Instructions

This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing Notifier App by zenon on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. The new version of the Notifier App by zenon offers the following new features:

- Receive Multiple Messages
The Notifier App can now receive multiple SMS messages sent by Message Control. The incoming messages are queued chronologically.

- Message Queue
The Message Queue is the new view within the app. It displays all incoming SMS messages from Message Control chronologically. In this view the user can manage and acknowledge all incoming messages.

- ‘Ignoring’ Message Control SMS messages
When incoming messages are not acknowledged right away, there is now the possibility to temporarily ignore them and acknowledge them later.

By reacting to messages and alarms quickly you can avoid expensive downtime and ensure that the effectiveness of equipment remains high. The zenon Message Control module in zenon was developed for this. zenon Message Control routes messages (such as alarms) to individual people such as operating staff or decision-makers, as an SMS for example.

The Notifier App by zenon was developed in order to be able to react even more simply to these SMS messages. The Notifier App detects alarms that are sent using Message Control, by means of key words or certain telephone numbers. On receipt, the user can simply acknowledge or reject the alarm with their Android smartphone.

The Notifier App in everyday production:
An alarm is triggered in the zenon HMI/SCADA software by a certain limit value being exceeded. For example, a limit value could be a maximum temperature that has been configured in zenon. If this limit value is exceeded, zenon Message Control sends an SMS with the corresponding alarms to the production manager. Even if they are not on site, they have this information directly on their smartphone.

The Notifier App detects the SMS from Message Control and emits an alarm on the smartphone for a duration of 30 seconds. The production manager can make a quick and direct decision about whether they want to acknowledge or reject the alarm – with a simple click.
