About this app

Emergency Light turns your wall mounted tablet into an emergency light when the power goes out.

Emergency Light is intended to be used for wall mounted tablets, such as those used as a part of home automation systems like Wink, Openhab, Control4, etc. When the power is disconnected from the device (presumably the result of a power outage), this app will turn the device on and set the screen white, allowing you to see in the dark.

The app will come on regardless of the time of day or whether or not the sun is shining, since power outages are often caused by storms that darken the skies in the middle of the day.

The app uses the devices default brightness setting, so you can choose how bright the app is compared to how long the battery will last.

The app does NOT contain the internet permission, so you don't have to worry that data is leaving your house!

The app has two permissions:

1) Wake Lock - allows the screen to remain on during a power outage.
2) Receive Boot Completed - allows the app to turn itself on when the device reboots, so it can detect when the power cord is disconnected (or the power goes off)
