This is great. But I would love it if you could add different types of noise and allow the mixing of these based on different masking.

Haven't even tried it yet but the programmers attention to detail in the description is a work of art, so I'm certain the implementation is sound.

It makes random height map bitmaps which are exportable, that's it. There's no 3D lofter option or any way to import a user made heightmap. Feels like a show of concept for school which is nicely done but it's not for professionals.

I use height maps to make voxel models on my pc, this works great. Although I would like to create rather than generate this app fulfills it's purpose. 10/10

Solid app. Simply does what it says. Generates a decent heightmap. Very useful if you need to add some randomised noise to a texture. App could use a bit more tidying up with the interface and it still crashes occasionally with larger sizes. But I've been using it for a few hours now and its definitely useful.

i dont see a way to open an image, it just generates random cloud images but even then i don't see a way to create a stl from that image. Useless!

About this app

Height maps are used to store values such as terrain elevation for the use in 3D computer graphics (bump mapping, displacement mapping, cloud opacity, fractal noise, etc.).

Heightmap's come in two forms; grayscale and color.
Grayscale heightmap's are visualized as luma of grayscale (black to white) with black representing the lowest elevations of the terrain and white the highest elevations (peaks).
Color height map's are visualized through a color gradient (blue to white) with blue being the lowest height and white the highest.

Heighmap Maker is a tool for creating random grayscale and color height maps. The app has an very minimalistic interface and is very easy to use. The user can choose the type of the height map and the output size of the generated map and image. Higher output values generate more detailed and complex images.
Generating maps can be very taxing* on the user's device. The higher the value of the output size the more processing and memory resources are needed for generating an image.
The user can save and share the generated images. All images are in the PNG format.

Heightmap Maker requires these permissions:

The permission to write on the device's external storage (memory card) for saving images;
The permission to access the network state - App rating, 'Share App' function, Ad's and crash reporting.

* On lower-end devices, choosing an higher output value for the generated image can sometimes lead to a long period of waiting for the app to finish generating an image preview or even the app crashing due to it reaching it's memory limit for the device. Choosing an lower output value for the generated image is the best solution for those devices.

New updates and features are coming soon.
