This meter connected only once first time. After that I tried many times it didn't work. After so many tries I finally connected my phone. It was not connecting before because my phone's location was off. Now I have no issue.

Update to version 1.1 fixes the connection problem to the 16040T. Open MApp from the install screen to be able to accept and deny permissions otherwise it won't connect. I'm not sure why it's asking for access to take video and pictures. I said no to this permission and it appears not to be a problem. I'll know more when I actually use the app.

Fantastic app! Easy to connect! Easy to use. PLEASE NOTE: It needs permissions to work properly. Pictures... to take snapshots of readout, video.... to take live video of readout. Location I'm not sure about, because nosy. This is why I bought the meter! (Here is a shocker "they", LOL, already have your location anyway). ALWAYS READ REVIEWS INSTEAD OF LOOKING AT THE STARS.

Had issue connecting and called the company. They responded with the following to try, and it now connects and works. From Southwire: Here is what you need to do with your Android phone. 1. Go into Settings 2. Click on Apps 3. Find the MApp app in the list of apps 4. Click on the MApp app 5. Click on Permissions 6. Enable all Permissions: Camera, Location, Storage

I'm updating my review from last month which is shown below. The app's latest update which installed 1/8/2020 now works with Android 10!. Tried installing app on a Google Pixel 2 XL phone running Android 10. The phone would see the meter (16040T) when scanning for available Bluetooth devices, but would never connect. Has the app ever worked with and Android phone? Zero reviews stating it has. I would not have purchased the meter if I had known it doesn't work.

The rating chart doesn't go below 1 otherwise I would give it a 0. App says it is scanning but nothing happens with my android LG phone and the model 16040T meter. UPDATE! Thanks to Eric who called Southwire and got the suggestions on enabling permissions I was able to now get my meter to link to the app and it now works. I had emailed support last week but never go a response. I have so far increased my rating.
