About this app

SaveKad allows the personal particulars of the MyKad chip to be shown and saved on a smartphone or tablet. A tiny affordable smartcard reader ACR38U-PocketMate is needed. It is probably one of the smallest and most portable contact smartcard readers in the market. Instead of using a piece of paper to jolt down the names of students, club members or employees interested in joining an activity, we can now use a smartphone or a tablet, together with a small reader, to record their particulars easily and quickly. This involves a simple card insertion action and a few taps on the screen.

The recorded data can be easily exported to a csv file, again, with a few screen taps, for use in spreadsheets and mail-merge facilities of word-processors. So, from participant registration, to creation of a presentable participant list or sending out of notification letters, there is no longer a need to write their names and addresses by hand.

Note :

In order to alleviate the data mis-use concern of JPJ, the saving of driving license data has been disabled for the time being.
