Installation Instructions

This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing CarAdvise on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. If the APK file does not automatically open with BlueStacks, right-click on it and select 'Open with...', then navigate to BlueStacks. Alternatively, you can drag-and-drop the APK file onto the BlueStacks home screen.

Here's the scenario: you go in for a simple oil change and after the oil change are confronted by a mechanic you suspect is as much sales person as he/she is mechanic. This person proceeds to tell you what additional service items your car needs. You're left wondering if your car actually needs these items or not. Not to mention these items are items most of us didn't know exist in your car or what they do and what the ramifications are if you don't get them. This app does a lot to remove some of the pressure felt in that situation first by removing that face-to-face mechanic/sales-person interaction where you feel compelled to make on-the-spot mostly random decisions--usually based solely on price--on what your car needs. Additional benefits are that it lists in a very clean sparse interface "Fair Price" which is a regional-based range taking into consideration multiple relevant factors, a page listing for each maintenance item "What it is", "Why do this?", "What if I decline?". This gives you peace of mind when choosing not to accept some maintenance item as does the fact that what you don't approve for purchase is "Saved for Later" thus making sure you don't forget the items

1. Download

Simply download the CarAdvise app.

2. Register

Follow the easy registration process to create an account exclusively for you and the vehicle(s) you wish to service

3. Approve

Simply go to “Services To Approve” where you will see the maintenance/repair work you brought your car into the shop for, as well as any other services the shop is suggesting. CarAdvise will then make it easy for you to make a decision whether to do the work now, later, or not at all. We will display a “fair price” and some information about the maintenance/repair and why you may want to do it now, or why you might want to wait and do it in the future. Once you have the work you want done approved in the app, simply input your credit card number for payment and you are done! The shop will simply hand you your keys, and you are on your way! No need to check out or store the receipt! We will email you the receipt then keep all of the info in your history section. Easy.
