About this app

Temperature is a physical quantity that expresses hot and cold. It is the manifestation of thermal energy, present in all matter, which is the source of the occurrence of heat, a flow of energy when a body is in contact with another that is colder.

Temperature is measured with a thermometer. Thermometers are calibrated in various temperature scales that historically have used various reference points and thermometric substances for definition.

Three temperature scales are in general use today. The Fahrenheit (°F) temperature scale is used in the United States and a few other English-speaking countries. The Celsius (°C) temperature scale is standard in virtually all countries that have adopted the metric system of measurement, and it is widely used in the sciences.

The Kelvin (K) scale, an absolute temperature scale (obtained by shifting the Celsius scale by −273.15° so that absolute zero coincides with 0 K), is recognized as the international standard for scientific temperature measurement.

In certain fields of engineering, another absolute temperature scale, the Rankine scale, is preferred over the Kelvin scale. Its unit of measure—the degree Rankine (°R)—equals the Fahrenheit degree, as the kelvin equals one Celsius degree.

FORMULA FOR CONVERTING CELSIUS TO FAHRENHEIT:~

The degree Celsius is a unit of temperature on the Celsius scale, a temperature scale originally known as the centigrade scale. The degree Celsius (symbol: °C) can refer to a specific temperature on the Celsius scale or a unit to indicate a difference between two temperatures or an uncertainty.

The Fahrenheit scale is a temperature scale based on one proposed in 1724 by the physicist Daniel Gabriel Fahrenheit (1686–1736). It uses the degree Fahrenheit (symbol: °F) as the unit. The other limit established was his best estimate of the average human body temperature (set at 96 °F; about 2.6 °F less than the modern value due to a later redefinition of the scale). However, he noted a middle point of 32 °F, to be set to the temperature of ice water.

[°F]= [°C] * 9/5 + 32

Example
Convert 20 degrees Celsius to degrees Fahrenheit:
T(°F) = 20°C × 9/5 + 32 = 68 °F

FORMULA FOR CONVERTING CELSIUS AND FAHRENHEIT TO KELVIN:~

The kelvin is the base unit of temperature in the International System of Units (SI), having the unit symbol K. It is named after the Belfast-born, Glasgow University engineer and physicist William Thomson, 1st Baron Kelvin (1824–1907).

The kelvin is now defined by fixing the numerical value of the Boltzmann constant k to 1.380 649×10−23 J⋅K−1. This unit is equal to kg⋅m2⋅s−2⋅K−1. One kelvin is equal to a change in the thermodynamic temperature T that results in a change of thermal energy kT by 1.380 649×10−23 J.

The temperature T in degrees Celsius (°C) is equal to the temperature T in Kelvin (K) minus 273.15:

T(°C) = T(K) - 273.15
Example
Convert 300 Kelvin to degrees Celsius:
T(°C) = 300K - 273.15 = 26.85 °C

T(K) = (T(°F) + 459.67)× 5/9
Example
Convert 60 degrees Fahrenheit to degrees Kelvin:
T(K) = (60°F + 459.67)× 5/9 = 288.71 K

KEY FEATURES OF THE LENGTH CONVERTER APP:~

I)The Temperature Converter App converts the major 4 units of length to Celcius, Fahrenheit, Kelvin and Rankine.

II)Just enter the value of temperature in any of these units and the other 3 units will get converted automatically in just a few seconds as an advantage.

III)The Temperature Converter App determines the value of temperature in precise decimal points,no matter of round figuring is considered.

IV)The app is completely free to use and no personal information is required.

The Length Converter App is developed by PH SOLUTION.
