About this app

The excellent app for converting degrees to radians.

The concept of angle is one of the most important concepts in geometry. The concepts of equality, sums, and differences of angles are important and used throughout geometry, but the subject of trigonometry is based on the measurement of angles.

The size of a geometric angle is usually characterized by the magnitude of the smallest rotation that maps one of the rays into the other. Angles that have the same size are said to be equal, congruent, or equal in measure.

In order to measure an angle θ, a circular arc centered at the vertex of the angle is drawn, e.g., with a pair of compasses. The length of the arc s is then divided by the radius of the circle r, and possibly multiplied by a scaling constant k (which depends on the units of measurement that are chosen):

θ = (s/r) k

Angles are considered dimensionless since they are defined as the ratio of lengths. There are, however, several units used to measure angles, depending on the choice of the constant k in the formula above.

Formula to convert Degrees to Radians:~

A Degree (in full, a degree of arc, arc degree, or arc degree), usually denoted by ° (the degree symbol),is a measurement of a plane angle, defined so that a full rotation is 360 degrees.

There is a simple formula to convert radians to degrees….
1π radian =180∘
α(radians) = α(degrees) × π / 180°
1 radian= degrees x (π / 180°) radian

Therefore you can easily convert from one unit of measure to the other.

Example:
convert 30° to Radians
= 30°x(3.1459/180°) Radian
= 0.5236 Radian

II) Formula to Convert Degree to Minute:~

The division of degrees into minutes and seconds of angle is analogous to the division of hours into minutes and seconds of time.

Degrees may be further divided into minutes and seconds, but that division is not as universal as it used to be. Each degree is divided into 60 equal parts called minutes(').

1 ° (1 degree) = 60 ' ( 60 minutes)
1 ' = 0.0166666667 °

Example:
convert 15 ° to minutes ( ' ) -
15 °
= 15 × 60 '
= 900 '

III) Formula to Convert Degree to Seconds:~

Each minute is further divided into 60 equal parts called seconds('').

One degree is equal to 60 minutes and equal to 3600 seconds:

1° = 60' = 3600" ( 3600 seconds)

One second is equal to 1/3600 degrees:

1" = (1/3600)° = 2.77778e-4°
= 0.000277778°

Example:
convert 20° to Seconds ('') -
20 °
= 20 × 3600 ''
= 7200"

IV) Formula to Convert Degree to π radians:~

The angle α in radians is equal to the angle α in degrees times pi constant divided by 180 degrees:

Pi radians are equal to 180 degrees:

π rad = 180°

One degree is equal 0.01745329252 radians:

1° = π/180° = 0.005555556π
= 0.01745329252 rad
α(radians) = (α(degrees) / 180°) × π

Example :
Convert 30° to π Radian ~
(30° / 180°) × π
= (1/6) × π
= π/6 rad
= 0.166667π rad

KEY FEATURES OF THE ANGLE CONVERTER APP:~
