About this app

The Cyclical Behaviour app differs from its older brother, Irrational Behaviour (see that app's link below) only in that its source material actually does offer the prospect of patterns.

The numbers involved are full reptend primes - prime numbers the reciprocal of which (1/n) produces an infinitely repeating sequence of a certain quantity of digits (1 less than the number itself). The first of these, 1/7 = 0.142857142857142857 etc. These are known as cyclic numbers.

The relevant sequences after the decimal point for the first 60 of such numbers are included courtesy of Ray Chandler of the Online Encyclopedia of Integer Sequences. Output images are saved as files on the user's device in the same format as for Irrational Behaviour, but with the source number referred to as e.g. "Rec47Dec" for 1/47 (all sources here are in decimal).

Designed using the Droidscript IDE. Source code for both apps is available on request.
