WELCOME to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Kenya APP.

This is an evidence based mobile application that compliments therapy, therefore empowering you to track your progress.

Cognitive behavioral therapy is a therapy approach that assists in the management of psychosocial issues and mental illnesses.

It is administered at the inception of therapy and the goal is to monitor progress, as you learn to identify unhelpful thought patterns, change and develop healthy coping skills to deal with daily stressors.

After the initial assessment by a psychologist you will be trained to use the APP.

As therapy continues it will be a reliable monitoring tool to inform you, your psychologist, psychiatrist and also caregiver (optional) on the effectiveness of the sessions and at the same time to identify gaps that will need adjustment in subsequent sessions.

WHO IT IS FOR

Individuals familiar with CBT can use it to monitor thoughts, emotions and response to situations.

Individual with psychosocial issues will need minimum of 4 sessions and maximum 12 sessions. Thereafter, you can use the APP and schedule booster virtual or face to face sessions on an as needed basis.

For acute and chronic mental health issues that require both medication and therapy.

HOW IT WORKS

Under close supervision of a mental health professional the, APP will assists you to monitor negative patterns in thoughts, emotions and behavior.


When you face overwhelming situations that trigger stress, anxiety and negative thoughts and urges the APP will be your aid.

Use it to record, and practice coping skill you are learning in therapy and share them with your therapist in subsequent sessions.

It will inform you when to ask for help from your support network and professionals.

A consistent recording on the APP will help to develop insight and personalized toolbox of coping skills. You will also be empowered to know when to ask for help.

Note: This App cannot substitute therapy.
