Installation Instructions

This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing FindPhone on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. If the APK file does not automatically open with BlueStacks, right-click on it and select 'Open with...', then navigate to BlueStacks. Alternatively, you can drag-and-drop the APK file onto the BlueStacks home screen.
  4. Wait a few seconds for the installation to complete. Once done, the installed app will appear on the BlueStacks home screen. Click its icon to start using the application.

Using LDPlayer

  1. Download and install LDPlayer from https://www.ldplayer.net.
  2. Drag the APK/XAPK file directly into LDPlayer.

About this app

FindPhone allows anyone whose phone number you add as an emergency contact to locate your phone by sending it an SMS. With your permission, FindPhone will run continuously and silently in the background. Your phone can be found as long as it can receive SMS; no data required!

Use this FindPhone Setup app to add emergency contacts by phone number. Those contacts (nobody else) can send the following commands (one-word SMS messages in ALL CAPS) to your phone:

LOST:
Your phone will automatically reply with its current location. If available GPS will be used to provide maximum accuracy.

UPDATE:
Your phone will automatically reply with its current location every minute. That way you can track the phone if you suspect it’s on the move. If available GPS will be used to provide maximum accuracy.

STOP:
Your phone will stop sending location updates if you previously requested them. Otherwise this command will not do anything.

CARRIER:
Your phone will automatically reply with the carrier it’s currently connected to. This could be useful if it’s roaming on a cell carrier in another country.
