Did not detect any metal at all. I installed it on my new Pixel 3a, started the scan and got no readings on many types of metals. But it did react to powerful magnets that were about a foot away. It's a decent MAGNETIC detector, but it didn't detect any of the 7 types of metals I tested it with. It did not detect: Gold, Silver, Lead, Steel, Iron, Copper, Aluminum.

1st if all, my phone does not have the necessary sensor to operate this program, nothing mentioned about this in the info. 2nd of all the ads were just as a obnoxious as other reviewers posted. Start, operate and close. Ads. Ads. Ads. I can't comment on the design of the graphics, user interface, ease of use because of the ads. I can appreciate one or maybe two ads while in trial period. But this is free, no option to buy to shed ads. Uninstalling.

this app is great I am using it on metal studs I think it has a few bad reviews because people are using it on wooden studs which i haven't tried yet, but as far as metal studs are concerned its great!! also something to keep in mind is your emf sensor might not be in the middle of your phone, mine is a little bit to the left of the middle but once you get used to this app it works great, I'm in construction and plan on using this app very frequently this app is more accurate than stud finders

Just open the App and move it around your surrounding the magnetic field level will constantly fluctuate when this app detect metal it will give beep sound. This App can easily Detect Metal its measures magnetic field with an embedded magnetic sensor. If the sensor comes near a piece of metal this is indicated

When you are looking for a stud in the wall with a metal detector, you are actually looking for the screws that hood the sheetrock in place. So, you may have to move vertically as well when searching the wall.

This  Metal Detector uses the magnetic sensor of your android phone. Open the app, and move it around. The magnetic field level will constantly fluctuate.  Data is displayed in µT (micro Testla). 1µT = 10mG (milli Gauss). 

Precautions
Not all phones are equipped in such a sensor (magnetometer).
Magnetometer sensor is a device that measure magnetism the direction, strength or relative change of a magnetic field at a particular location.
Please check it in your phone specification. If your device does not have one, the application will not work.

The accuracy of this app depends entirely on your smart phone magnetic sensor (magnetometer).
