This is an excellent App. I'm always asked questions about Family. i have so many names that sometimes my memory is not good. i can search a simple name, partial name or even initials and find most anybody in me GEDCOM file. I can even send notes to my email to update my records.I highly recommend this app to any genealogist or novice.

I have used this app virtually every day for the last couple of years. I check family member birthdays, spelling of names, as well as genealogy questions. I don't feel a need to edit on my handheld. But I absolutely love the Notes capability, and being able to email the notes to myself, so I can do whatever work necessary on my workhorse database on my desktop. Being able to search by first names so easily is *so* helpful.

Can't download gedocm to Nexus 7 and have it recognized. Can't Install it from an email attachment. Tried sending gedcom to URL listed in help section - doesn't exist anymore. Tried emailing developer for assistance. Mail returned because mailbox full. Unfortunately, no zero star rating available. Don't buy this app unless you have $10 to burn. If you do have $10 to burn, let me know and I'll take it. And I promise not to give you anything in return, unlike Family Bee.

I've been using the app for several years now, and continue to be very pleased with it. It has been very convenient to have a copy of my tree on my phone and with me all the time. Two suggestions: It needs to be easier to upload a GEDCOM file. This is not an intuitive process and currently roadblocks include a conflict with an RSA token app. Best way I have found so far is to upload the file to Dropbox, and then open it there. It also would be great to have a way to view what happened on this date in your family tree.

If you are having problems: 1) read the instructions, 2) contact the developer. He does reply and he does fix problems! Note especially HOW you export Gedcom for use by this app and you will have no problems. It works on both my old and new Nexus. Update: developer helped and up and running once again!

Brilliant and simple to use. Handles my gedcom with over 18k individuals, all the sources, notes etc created in my Family Historian desktop software. The only thing it doesn't do is the photos, but that's ok, as I wouldn't want to copy all the photos onto my phone storage (even if it had room). I've ducked one star, as (on Android 9 Pie) I am now getting a message about it being made for an old version of Android and may not work properly, although it does. I don't think this has been updated for years now, and while it's still working perfectly, of have thought they could have done some work on it since, especially as it wasn't free (cost US$10 back in 2010).
