Installation Instructions

This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing Basic4GL on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. If the APK file does not automatically open with BlueStacks, right-click on it and select 'Open with...', then navigate to BlueStacks. Alternatively, you can drag-and-drop the APK file onto the BlueStacks home screen.
  4. Wait a few seconds for the installation to complete. Once done, the installed app will appear on the BlueStacks home screen. Click its icon to start using the application.

Using LDPlayer

About this app

Write games and programs in BASIC on your PC and run them on your phone/tablet.

It's free. All you need is a PC, an Android phone or tablet, and a USB cable to connect them:

1. Go to www.basic4gl.net/mobile and download Basic4GL Mobile (for Windows 7, 8 and 10).
2. Write something in Basic4GL's BASIC language, and run it on your PC.
3. Then when you're ready, compile it for mobile and copy it over the network to your phone or tablet.
4. Run the Basic4GL app and see your program come alive.

Added accelerometer support.
Use the AccelerometerRoll(), AccelerometerPitch() and/or AccelerometerTransform() functions to read the orientation of your phone or tablet.

Make sure to upgrade the Windows version of Basic4GL Mobile to v1.3.3 as well, so you can make use of these new commands.
