Installation Instructions

This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing AutoFon BLE on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. If the APK file does not automatically open with BlueStacks, right-click on it and select 'Open with...', then navigate to BlueStacks. Alternatively, you can drag-and-drop the APK file onto the BlueStacks home screen.
  4. Wait a few seconds for the installation to complete. Once done, the installed app will appear on the BlueStacks home screen. Click its icon to start using the application.

Using LDPlayer

  1. Download and install LDPlayer from https://www.ldplayer.net.

About this app

The AutoFon BLE application is designed to work with AutoFon search devices (beacons) that support Bluetooth BLE technology.
It allows you to make direction finding for a beacon by analyzing the strength of the Bluetooth BLE radio signal from the device with a smartphone using this application.

The Direction finding is used to more accurately determine the location of the device located near to it, in the absence of exact coordinates and the impossibility of visual contact. For example, when the device you are looking for is inside one of the locked garages, or in one of the apartments of an apartment building.

Depending on the device, it may be necessary to enable direction finding by sending the appropriate command. After its processing, the radio transmission of the device identifier will begin on air and will continue for several tens of minutes.

The range of BLE direction finding can vary significantly for different types of AutoFone devices. Solutions are currently being planned that provide
- up to 30 meters of open space;
- up to several hundred meters of open space.
Keep this in mind when choosing a device and working with them.
