This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing WinRC - Remote Control for PC (Unreleased) on PC Windows and Mac.

About this app

Control your Windows-based PC/laptop from Android device over WiFi / Intranet LAN (Local Area Network).

To use this app, you'll need to install WinRC Server app on your PC/laptop, downloadable for free from http://athelstone.id/winrc/

WinRC Server will be automatically launched upon setup completion. Launch WinRC app on your Android device. List of computers running WinRC Server on your local network will be displayed. Tap on selected item to initiate connection.

Tap on tab header to switch control interface (keyboard, keypad, mouse, media, or apps). Tap on gear icon to open settings page.

Use keyboard/keypad as you usually do with your physical keyboard, i.e. hold down shift and press letter key to enter capital letter, hold down Ctrl while pressing arrow key to navigate between words in text editor, hold down Alt and PrintScreen key to take snapshot of active windows, toogle capitalization lock by tapping CapsLock key, etc.

Mouse is controlled via emulated touch-pad using common touch-pad gestures:
+ touch-and-drag to move mouse pointer
+ single tap to perform single click
+ double tap to perform double click
+ tap using two fingers to perform right click
+ tap-and-hold to perform mouse drag
+ touch-and-hold first finger, swipe second finger to perform wheel scrolling (both axis are supported)

Note that by default WinRC Server will be launched on Windows startup. You can disable this behavior by setting "Do not launch WinRC Server on startup" option upon installation or later from settings tab on server app.
