Love the idea. It isn't as extreme as the ones that completely block you from using apps, so it encourages me to keep it on all day. The only problem for me is when I try to block YouTube, the mini player messes things up. If I expand the mini player to fullscreen, the ascent overlay will pop up, putting YouTube back into the mini player mode, so I can't really expand it until I close the mini player or set it to audio only before reopening YouTube

Hmm, you see the video advertisement? Yea that's the whole thing but you can only apply it to 2 apps only. Except for that, something like customization, timer, message, reminder(if you enter the app anyway, you can set a reminder after 10 minutes to remind you of your goal), focus time is all hidden behind a paywall. I think they should give a bit more access even if you don't want to pay because only 2 apps? Just feels forceful for you to pay to access certain features

Really appreciate the pop up screen that forces me to pause and think for at least 5 seconds before opening an app. The free version lets you do this for 2 apps. The ability to set pause notifications within your restricted apps, set reminders, intentions and randomize pause screens is only available in the premium version. I'd rather pay a one time fee tbh since the fee of rm 9.99 a month or rm 59.99 is a bit expensive. But this app is really good and I highly recommend!

Nice app with one major flaw. On YouTube, when watching a video in PiP mode, the ascent banner will show as soon as you try expand the video to go back to full-screen YouTube. Now once I dismiss the banner, the YouTube video goes back to PiP mode. And when you expand it again to go back to YouTube full-screen, the same cycle happens again.

Pretty good, however, I do wish they there was a pay once own forever model, as I don't want to pay a subscription, no matter how much it costs. Even if it was 30USD I'd be fine. App is better than most and with paid features, allows more than two apps, and a colour choice which is nice. Please give us another way to pay and we will!

So, app works good, compared to competitor app OneSec which I could't get working on Android 11. My only complaint is that the statistics that Ascent gives you are incorrect. Instead of showing how many times it stopped the user from using an app (by pressing "I dont want to use this app") it shows all the times you clicked on safeguarded apps, regardless of if it was compulsive or you actually needed to open them and proceeded. Fix this and I'll change it to 5 stars.
