Love Macroid. It has given me ways to fix many of my Samsung Note 4's limitations. Today I was adding a new macro and I was prompted to install this additional 'helper' app. And... that's where things started to fall apart. The phone would not wake up after a shut down. Could only reboot after a half hour rest. Went through this cycle about a dozen times and thought maybe a bad battery or a low charge, but things checked out fine there. So I shut off Macroid... phone works fine again!

Not 100% sure what it does but it is required for some features of MacroDroid which is an excellent app.

Thanks for the helper add-on! Maybe a tad bit on what people can expect this to do for the main app would be useful.

Why have to install a helper app? Why not just have it built in to the main app. Sounds fishy, but I'm not a programmer.

Technical Details
=============

For anyone interested in the technical details of why this file is required please read below.

When releasing for a Target SDK of 23 (Marshmallow), updating system settings requires a new special type of permission to be enabled (which MacroDroid prompts for). However, a few settings are now no longer able to be set, such as enabling/disabling the notification LED (see https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=189701&can=1&q=notification_light_pulse&colspec=ID%20Status%20Priority%20Owner%20Summary%20Stars%20Reporter%20Opened)

To workaround this limitation, this very simple helper file is built against an earlier target SDK and the old requests are relayed to this helper file. In this way the old functionality will still work on Marshmallow devices (and beyond).
