About this app

This app uses conformal mapping to calculate the shape and inviscid, incompressible, 2-d velocity and pressure distribution around Karman-Trefftz family airfoils. This app is a more developed, python based version of our previous Karman-Trefftz app. We have chosen to release it as a new, separate app to reflect the significant restructuring it underwent.
Planned expansion includes inverse design and generalized 2-d panel codes allowing for analysis of any parameterized 2-d shape.

New features

The new version of this app now produces contour and quiver plots of pressure and velocity. It is now partially Python based to avoid the awkward graphing libraries in standard Java.
There is currently one known bug due to a roots of unity problem in the inverse transform when the airfoil is very extremely cambered. We are sorry for the inconvenience, and are developing a numerical inverse transform method to fix this issue.
