Alright so after doing some research, I ended up here with this app which appears like a quick work done method. But after downloading, adjusting with my phone storage, it simply pops up with a new "additional 40mb thing" why? I just wanted to make a txt file, and not a dictionary. Anyway I downloaded all required files. Now it takes me to camera. If file is already in phone, Why will I take a photo? Doesn't make any sense! Atleast add a gallery option and one default language. We don't want to download all packages of languages just to use one language.

About this app

OCR Pro is an advanced optical character recognition app that allows you to convert your live physical documents into digital text .txt files using your device camera. OCR Pro takes the OCR functionality out of my award winning PDF Document Scanner app (see my account details for that app) and turns it into a stand alone app. Eventually these two apps will work together and share functionality, but for now, the OCR features are still in experimental mode.

OCR Pro requires the download of english language OCR pack before first use. After that, operation is simple. Take a picture with your device camera (a picture of a text document) and crop it, adjust the brightness, and so on. Once you have a good picture, the app will try to convert it into text and save it as a text file for you. Files are saved in plain .txt format.

I still consider this app to be in an experimental stage, but it will be undergoing active development, so please leave feedback with suggestions and ways I can improve it and make it better. As I said before, once OCR Pro is out of the beta stage, it will replace the current OCR component from my PDF Document Scanner app, and the two apps will work in unison to provide cross functionality.

Thanks for trying OCR Pro, let me know what you think!
