This is the only app I found that successfully switched me to the strongest AP and at the same time prevented "ping-pong" my device between 2 APs with relatively similar strength (you have to know what you are doing when adjusting the settings). Well done. I don't know how can this app get something less than 5 stars.

Incredible and easy to use. I have a WiFi extender in my room, and this is really convenient to switch networks when I go upstairs.

This is the ONLY app that worked for me. I've tried what must be 10 different apps to help me switch to the best WiFi in my home. Ever since Android 10, the other apps stopped working, including powerful tools like Tasker's AutoTools and other paid apps. So I'm extremely happy with Best WiFi. Keep up the GREAT work!

When both 2.4 and 5 saved networks have the same strength 10, enabling the Prefer 5Ghz setting doesn't work erroneously, and it keeps connecting to 2.4Ghz network incorrectly.

Android 10 did not always automaticaly connect to weaker wifi. App does what I hoped it would do. Provides control of power level to connect and switches to strongest signal. Works well.

About this app

Please note - this app requires Location permission which is a Google requirement, see https://developer.android.com/guide/topics/connectivity/wifi-scan

I would be grateful if you do not leave a negative review for this app due to a Google requirement!

Best WiFi provides a simple widget that allows you to connect to the WiFi router with the strongest signal. This can be useful if you have multiple WiFi routers as your device may take a long time to connect to the best signal by itself. The widget displays the name of the router your device is currently connected to. Clicking the widget will cause it to briefly display the networks within range, after which it will connect to the strongest source and then close automatically.

It is also possible to configure whether to only connect to previously saved networks, or whether to connect to any open network. You can also configure whether saved networks should be preferred over unknown open networks even if the signal from the known network is weaker.

The app can also scan for the strongest signal in the background periodically, e.g. every 15 minutes (disabled by default but can be enabled from settings).

New features

Minor change to the way app connects to router
