About this app

Want to know exactly on the spot what kind of notification you've just received? Custom Wear Notifications allows you to customize how your Wear OS watch reacts to specific notifications.

★ With this app you can:

● Set custom sounds and vibrations of your choice, to trigger on your watch, for any app installed on your phone.
● Set custom keywords that trigger custom sounds and vibrations when contained in a notification from any app (e.g., the name of a person you are talking with on messaging apps).
● Set notification reminders, to replay the custom sound and vibration of the most recently received notification that you haven't yet dismissed.
● Set Text-to-Speech as the sound for certain notifications, to read out loud their content.
● Create your own vibration patterns.
● Ignore DND (Do Not Disturb) on the watch for certain apps/keywords that are important to you.
● Be alerted about incoming notifications even when you are not wearing the watch (Some watches don't sound or vibrate for incoming notifications if you are not wearing them, but the app allows you to be alerted in this situation, if you prefer).
● Customize the notifications on every watch connected to your phone. If you have multiple watches connected, you can customize the notifications for each one individually.

The app allows you to use your own sound files (preferably, in .mp3 format), for example, the chorus of your favorite song.

The app has a few built-in vibrations which you can choose from, but you can also build your own vibration patterns!

If you own more than 1 wearable device, there's no problem. The app works simultaneously for all of them, each with their own settings!

You will also need to install the companion watch app.
The watch app plays the custom sounds and vibrations that you've configured in the phone app and allows you to quickly and conveniently turn the custom notifications On or Off and stay informed about things that are preventing you from hearing the custom notifications (like the notifications volume being muted).

Every feature is explained in detail in the instructions available in the app.
Over there you can also find the setup of the app, which is pretty straightforward:
1. Make sure you've installed the app on both the phone and the watch.
2. Make sure your watch is connected to the phone via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi.
3. Grant the phone app permission to access notifications, so that it can relay to the watch the custom notifications you've configured.
4. Disable battery optimizations for the app. This step is optional on some devices, but on others, it might be required so that the custom notifications are delivered consistently.
5. Mute the watch's built-in notification sound and vibration, so that you don't hear both the custom and the built-in sounds and vibrations. You can read more about this in the app, but, in short, you'll have to go to the watch settings and set "No sound"/"No vibration" or "Mute" for both the built-in sound and vibration.

This application is intended only for Wear OS smartwatches.
