This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing Sun Position, Sunrise/set PRO on PC Windows and Mac.

I got this app because I wanted to estimate how much sun my potted plants would get based on where I put them, and this app is super handy for that. I've also used to to estimate how long it would be before an outdoor table at a restaurant would be in the shade. All in all, a pretty useful tool, worth paying for the upgraded version to get the date-setting function for seasonal estimations.

I made the decision to pay for this app so I could search forward. As a very immature photographer, I am trying to identify places for future Golden hour shots was well as some dramatic sunshots. Also some opportunities for moonlight shots. The navigation is a little clunky but happy with the performance and I recommend giving it a try. There is a lot of junk out there, and this app is definitely NOT one of the junkie ones.

I'm using this to plan raised beds under an old-growth canopy. I like the sun path view, especially being able to specify a date range. Still trying to figure out what all the lines on the map view are useful for. The reason this is not 5 stars (yet) is because sun path view only works from "current location" & updating current location seems dependent on direct interaction w/Google maps initiated from map view; this is time consuming. It'd be nice to be able to specify a location in sun path.

Best bloody app ever. Hot air balloon tour guide, early mornings. Time lapse sun and moon rise and sets on GoPro. I know what's going on, thankyou.

About this app

Sun Position shows you sunrise and sunset times, as well as the solar and lunar path on an augmented reality camera view for any day of the year at your current location. Its handy data screen also gives you other useful information including moon rise/set times, golden hour and twilight times, and moon phase information.

The app has a map view which plots the daily sun and moon path relative to your current location. It also contains a widget for your home screen showing sunrise/set times for the current day and your current location.

This is the full version of Sun Position. You can also download a free demo version which is limited to showing data for the current day (click on more apps by Stonekick to find this).
