Amber is an electricity provider on a mission to shift Australia to 100% renewables faster, by helping customers use more energy when it’s greener and cheaper.

We’re doing electricity retailing differently, giving you access to electricity at real-time wholesale prices. This empowers you to go beyond carbon offsetting and save money by actually using more power when it’s greener and cheaper.

Now with Amber for Batteries, Home Battery owners can accelerate the payback on their home battery by combining Amber's SmartShift™ battery automation and control features with our wholesale pricing. Now, for the first time, battery owners can:
- Gain the control that they always wanted over their battery, with the power to export, charge and preserve their battery at the press of a button.
- Get paid the same feed-in tariffs that big fossil fuel generators earn, with wholesale FiTs that can reach $15/kWh and the ability to receive every cent that their energy is worth at the time it is exported.
- Boost their energy savings from their solar and battery with smart automation that continually hunts for the best prices to export and charge their battery.

With increasing usage of renewable energy at the heart of our mission, we’re also giving non-customers access to a public version of the app to discover when the grid is greenest and increase their use of renewable energy. While non-Amber customers don’t buy energy at wholesale prices, they can still take advantage of the app to use more greener energy, support demand for renewable power, and help shut down coal faster.

Also with the Amber mobile app, anyone can see the percentage of renewable energy currently in the grid in their state, and the renewables percentage forecast for the rest of the day.

Customers can also see the real-time price of energy for their home, and track their electricity usage.

Additional customer features include:
- A detailed breakdown of your electricity usage history, including daily usage graphs, daily costs, benchmarking against averages and the government’s Default Market Offer.
- Plan your usage more easily with a longer price and renewables forecast, in 30 minute intervals.
- A detailed live price page, with specific callouts for when prices are extremely low, or unusually high. Allowing you to plan
- Separate live prices and forecast for your solar feed-in and controlled load usage
- Half-hourly usage data for each previous day

App Permissions

Allows applications to open network sockets.
