Excellent! The app works as expected, and has lots of very useful features. The developer's support is quite fast as well.

There should be a simple way to add item. E.g. search the item on Amazon or B&H and add the item to Camera Bag.

I've been using it ans reading the user manual for 20 minutes. Still can't get it useful. Every time i add a camera it opens the first camera and overwrites data. And the whole bag thing doesn't work or make sense. I do not categorize my camera by what backpack they're in i don't know who does that.

If you're willing to put in all the work to fill out all the details, this might be worth your time. I had to pass because the interface was overcomplicated and things which should have been in the DB (like the weight of my 6D) weren't. I'll find something else as a solution.

About this app

Organize and keep track of all your photography and video gear.

CameraGear is the perfect tool for the professional or hobbist photographer or videomaker: It allows you to keep track of all information regarding your equipment, including cameras, lenses, acessories, and so on.

With an easy-to use and intuitive interface, it allows you to keep track of insurance policy and warranty expiration dates, manuals, serial numbers, wish lists you can share, and even attach photos of your own equipment to its record.

* Insurance policies: keep track of policies, premiums, insurance companies, and get notified on your Android device whenever an insurance is about to expire

* Warranties: know when your equipment's insurance is about to expire, and get automatic notifications on a configurable timeframe before it expires

* Loans: keep track of whom you lend your gear to, when they are supposed to be returned and get automatic notifications on the estimated return dates

* Backup & Restore: quickly and easily backup your database to a secure cloud server, including the product images. You can restore your data whenever you want, even on a different device. You can use this to keep your database synch'd across devices you own and have Camera Gear installed.

Product and manual pages: direct link your equipment to their products pages and manual, so you always have the info when you're on the go. If you don't wnat to look them up, don't worry, Camera Gear has a built-in database of almsot 1,000 equipments from major manufacturers, with product pages and manuals, including all the current (and many discontinued) photo gear from Canon, Fujifilm, Nikon, Sony and Hasselblad (and more to come).

Wish list: create and manage wish lists of gear you want, and share them with whomever you like, using your favorite app. If you don't want to type in the name of the gear you want, don't worry: just add it from Camera Gear's built-in equipment database!

Gear Bags: organize your gear in "gear bags", with information about total weight and current value of each bag. You can use the same bag for different setups, such as "nature shooting" or "glacier hiking". Starting on version 1.3, you can share your Gear Bags to any other app that accepts plain text, thus allowing you to e-mail or print them.

Read EXIF data: Add your cameras easily by simply reading an unedited photo file from that camera. Camera Gear will read the EXIF information from the file and automatically fill the fields in the new equipment with data from the EXIF fields, such as maker, model, type, serial number, and shutter count (when available). You can also use photo files to constantly update the shutter count of your cameras.

Camera Gear comes with a built-in database of tens of manufacturers, categories, sub-categories, and you can customize everything.

Although Camera Gear is free, some of the features, indicated with (*) above, are only for the Premium users, which is an in-up purchaseable upgrade, which will also disable ads on the app.

New features

- New gear from Nikon added, including the D850 and its accessories
