Al Sahraa highway maintenance ensures that highways and roads across Abu Dhabi stay in safe and well maintained. Al Sahraa highway maintenance engineer must complete a variety of tasks on these roadways including regular maintenance, Sand Removal from the Roads ,footpath, shoulders and medians, Maintenance and cleaning of existing animal Grid from the sand, Repairing of all types of existing guard Rail and Rope Rail, Repair/replacement the damage traffic signs, Replacement of concrete barriers, removal of debris materials from the Roads, Repairing of all types of existing fence and chain link fence including changing the post and foundations.

A highway maintenance engineer/site inspector generally find issues on highway sites that are in need of repair. They will go to the problem area, assess the situation, and implement the proper solution by escalating to concerned department. In terms of regular highway maintenance, they will perform such duties as paving uneven or damaged highways, painting traffic lines and dividers, and even expanding upon the current highway infrastructure.

A highway maintenance worker is also called out during times of extreme weather. In extreme weather conditions they will salt the roads in preparation for raining, and then operate plows to clear the roads during and after the storms.
