App is absolutely terrible. Same issues as everyone else. Disappointing from company to not address an on going issue. $700 unit just to serve as a back protector is ridiculous! System constantly turns itself off, even on a fully charged battery, closed flat, and movement.

Samsung Note 9 Zero issues connecting when the vest is plugged into the charger and phone is next to vest. Firmware was updated quickly with no issues. Aside from checking to see if you firmware is updated, there really is no reason to connect the app to the vest... the "Start my Ride" function works independently and no need to connect the vest to the app to make it function.

Just bought my TechAir5 and straight out of the box I'm getting an error code 05 when I try to update the software. Attempted to submit a report on the app and that failed too. How is this supposed to instill confidence that the vest will work as intended if Alpinestars can't even get a basic App to work? To say I'm unimpressed is an understatement. As others have said, considering the price and that buyes are trusting their wellbeing in this product, it should work flawlessly out of the box

Tech Air 5 was initially unable to pair to my Samsung S10+, but I figured out a workaround: I initially used my girlfriend's S9 to connect and update firmware. After firmware update on the vest and enabling "bluetooth scanning" under Location settings on my S10+ I am able to connect without issue. Only wish is that the Race/Street mode was a switch instead of in the settings menu. Like many users, it is the main reason I have the app, I would like it to be front and center.

This App is awful. Unable to connect to the vest 99% of the times. Even when connected I was unable to update the Airbag software, and this is a huge setback because it impacts on the safety of the operations. I'm appalled that Alpinestars is incapable to create a working App, an App necessary for critical software updates !!!

The app is hopeless, having tried several different android phones, works only in an old Sony, and then only in house intermittently and held right next to jacket. A disgrace with a product of the alleged sophistication of the tech air 5.
