Installation Instructions

This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing Insight on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. If the APK file does not automatically open with BlueStacks, right-click on it and select 'Open with...', then navigate to BlueStacks. Alternatively, you can drag-and-drop the APK file onto the BlueStacks home screen.
  4. Wait a few seconds for the installation to complete. Once done, the installed app will appear on the BlueStacks home screen. Click its icon to start using the application.

Using LDPlayer

  1. Download and install LDPlayer from https://www.ldplayer.net.
  2. Drag the APK/XAPK file directly into LDPlayer.

About this app

Insight was designed to allow you to easily understand your device's security state and basic information. Insight conducts various tests and displays the findings as a traffic light system. We show these as health shields one per test and then an overall shield that is made up of all the test results.

* Insight conducts 13 tests and is in active development, more will be added.

* Insight shows device information to make it easy to find rather than hunting through settings.

* Insight DOES NOT require any permissions to be granted for normal use. I only ask for WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE if you decide to export your test as a JSON file to your downloads folder.

* Insight will never show adverts or in-app purchases and will remian free to use. If you would like to support the development please purchase the paid version. There is no difference to the app but you will get a supporter badge on Discord.

* Insight should be used as a guide, if it highlights something like a "VPN" is running and you installed and started the VPN then you can be sure that is safe. If however it shows one running and you didn't install one then it is something to be aware of.

* Join our Discord server using the icon in the app to suggest ideas and hangout.
