Sound Meter – decibel meter is a sound meter for your smart phone. Sound Meter is also known as Sound Level Meter (SPL), Decibel meter, db meter, noise meter or Noise detector. Noise meter – decibel meter uses phone microphone to measure environmental noise decibels (db) and show its value in decibel.
Sound Meter or Noise detector is also known as pressure level meter which can be used to measure too noisy sounds and also for sound test. Noise detector is used to measure different noise level, it is the fact that too much loud sound is harmful to human ear, but the problem is how to detect that the sound around is harmful to human ear or not.

Note:
- Spl meter (sound pressure level) uses phone microphone to measure too noisy sounds. Microphones in most android devices are aligned to human voice. Very loud sounds (over 90 dB) may not be recognized in most device. So please use it as just an auxiliary tools. Sometimes the db value calculated by pressure level meter is not as accurate as an actual Pressure Level Meter, and this is due to some smart phone devices microphone are aligned to human voice.
