This app is different than absolutely all of the so named 3d compasses in the appstore. This performs the job of a dip circle. You can actually see the verticle component of the magnetic field. The other "3d" compases I have observed, only project the direction of this 3d magnetic field onto the horizontal plane determined by the phones accelerometers, which looks fancy but is pretty lame because it throws away information.
