How I have missed something like this on my phone. As a regular user of the text editor on Windows for short notes, reminders, small documents and even coding when necessary I've lamented the lack of a simple editor for Android. Today I found this as I shunned the too complex post-it style apps yet again. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

A fun and practical text editing experience! I love using basic text editors. If jotting down a quick, temporary note, the complexity of something like Google Keep is just annoying. Sometimes I need to view a configuration file or something, so Old School Editor is good to keep around for any small task like that as well! 4 stars--It needs some polish still. For instance, the line numbers don't line up with the text on the lines.

Given the name of the app i expected it to be least as good as & as functional as Microsoft's 1990's Notepad.exe, but greed is rampant everywhere, with substandard apps (releasing Alpha quality S/W (not even Beta quality), & expecting gullible customers to drown in a mire of Ad's stealing bandwith customers have to pay for!) Then you're expected (by lies) to allow access to all your data which they sell, & if u don't agree then you just get locked out! Wanna Scare? Read PrivacycPolicy B4 uSay Y

Nice but scrolling issues: Scrolling down is kinetic but scrolling sideways stops after some time and is not kinetic. Seems like a custom implementation which is not necessary at this point. I'd love to use this app if this is fixed

Just came across this. Looks like the old Norton Commander editor, very nice. Can you add an icon at top or bottom for easy access to either show a pop-up window with a list of RECENT FILES. Or an assigned HOME FOLDER LISTING OF FILES. Or preferably both options? Would be a great hit. Thanks. 5*

This app is great. Everything I was looking for in a text editor. It does what it's supposed to do simply and elegantly. The user interface is intuitive and effective and it's not full of unnecessary junk and ads like in other apps. Thank you for this app.
