This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing ZORN ZFG Viewer for Evd data on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

Viewer for soil compaction quality data (Evd Modulus)

Instantly review testing results for compacted soils and aggregates obtained with your ZORN ZFG Light Weight Deflectometer on your Android mobile device. Send data for single measurement points as plain text or in the ZORN „ZXZ“ format to any email account for further processing, e.g. on your PC with your ZORN FG Software. Connect GPS data from your ZFG device with Google maps.

Works on Android Smartphones/Tablets (4.4 up) for ZORN Light weight deflectometer models ZFG 3000 GPS, ZFG 3000 ECO, ZFG 3.0 und ZFG 3.0 GPS. Usage of ZFG Viewer apps partly requires internet connection and email account installed to your Android device.


How does one get the measurement data into the tablet/smartphone?
If your tablet/smartphone has USB-OTG/USB-Host capability you can use an OTG-adapter cable combined with a SD-card reader to read the data from the SD-card.
In order to do this, remove the SD-card from the measurement device (ZFG3000/ZFG3.0). Insert the OTG-adapter cable into the micro-USB port of your smartphone or tablet. Now connect the SD-card reader containing the SD-card to the OTG-adapter cable. Then start the "ZFG Viewer" app.
The app will automatically look for the ZFG folder on the SD-card and the measurement data should be displayed in the app.
