This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing HRGX on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. If the APK file does not automatically open with BlueStacks, right-click on it and select 'Open with...', then navigate to BlueStacks. I'm a large scale commercial and government security contractor that installs hundreds of expensive high end camera systems for national companies. My customers include Lowes Home Improvement, Dick's Sporting Goods and Sears. This is by far the BEST and EASIEST system that I've seen that's available to the public.

Just switched from DW (Digital Watchdog) to this one and this one is just as much of a POS as the other one. You can only use via wifi since it gives you error 44 and the morons at Honeywell just tell you to go to an apple device....Like really? These guys are idiots on crack...My downsyndrome child can make a better product!

Wont connect to dvr at all. Information works everywhere else but the app. Error code 153. Maybe list the error codes so we can actually troubleshoot this stuff. Do not recommend this hardware or software. They lock support behind dealers support contracts.

I can't get any of the 3 of my 16 channel DVR's to connect thru app. I guess won't be using my phone to check on the business. Samsung Note 3.

Why the hell would you create a app for a this operating system and only let it work through wifi. This app made me want to start smoking again. I'll never buy Honeywell again

Piece of crap app. Never works. Can't rely on it at all. Way too buggy. Hard to connect devices and then cuts them out sporadically. Hate it!

Honeywell HRGX APP is an Android based smart phone Video surveillance application, which supports HRG and HRGX series DVR of Honeywell that supports standard H.264 video codec.
Honeywell’s HRGX Android app lets you remotely monitor, search, and play back video, and
control PTZ cameras, from an embedded HRGX DVR via a wireless network or mobile data connection

The key features include:
• Real-time video preview of up to 16 channels;
• Swipe for PTZ control and camera movement, pinch to zoom in and out in preview mode;
• Support for preset activation and configuration, as well as calibration for brightness.
• Snapshot support;
• Management of up to 100 sets of devices. Device profiles can be added / deleted / modified.
