Installation Instructions

This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing GIR - a generic input reader tool for developers. on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.

About this app

The Generic Input Reader is a useful tool for hardware, software, and video game developers to map put key bindings for various controllers.

Features:
-Map virtually any gamepad/controller.
-Export keypress data to txt.
-Export device/system information to txt.
-Optional mouse/screen input readings.


A Brief History:
The GIR was created with the sole purpose of mapping generic bluetooth gamepads for video game development. Then was later packaged into a user friendly application for developers to map out various inputs.
