About this app

Waypoint is the new work time tracking and management solution for smartphones created by kimhauser.ch. It uses the Internet connection to communicate with a PHP Webservice / MySQL DB for data storage. Be side the easy management of your time records you can create and view differed type of reports (data lists and graphical) for an easy data analysis. You can group your teams / organizations by creating different mandate with according groups and users. Per mandate you can manage different clients and their projects. You can also define different work codes to categorize your work time. Beside the classical data entry / editing mode the app also has a quick entry mode, where you just start and stop the time with the press of a button. You then select client project and work code and your done (After the first time the client project and work code is auto filled with you favorite selection). This way its easy and quick to enter new timesheet entries if you don't have a lot of time. At the end of the day you can then review the quick entries and add a description where necessary. The quick mode can also use your GPS coordinates to remember the client / project for a specific location. This enables Waypoint to automatically propose client project and work code if you're at a location that is already known to Waypoint. This feature is optional and can be disabled. Its also planed to build a feature that starts and stops automatically when you enter a defined geo-fence so Waypoint can record your worktime fully automatically, but this is future sound. You can customize the presentation of the data and the general behaviour of the app in many different ways so it fits your needs. Waypoint doesn't store any data locally (except the app settings) so you need a working internet connection to use the Waypoint app.

You can try Waypoint completely free. Either with the Demo Mandate (demo entries / data) - you just click and try out the features of Waypoint. Or when your through with the Demo Mandate, or want to try it out with your own setup, you can apply for your own free mandate and deep test Waypoint down to its bones. This free offer last as long as Waypoint is still in beta phase. After that you can convert your free mandate into a paid one hosted on kimhauser.ch (for a really affordable monthly fee) or you buy the Waypoint server (for a small one time charge) and install it on your own web server. The Waypoint client app itself is and will always be free. (It is planed to release an open source / community version of the solution) The thought behind this offer is to yield a a win-win situation. On your side you can try the Waypoint solution for free and without any risk and as a counter draw we can gain experience with the app working under real life conditions and adjust / enhance it so it fits the needs of a professional business environment.

If the there is a demand for it we will be glad to release an open source version of the whole solution. An iOS version of the app is under development - but it's not ready for release yet. Please drop a line if your are interested in the iOS version. Your also welcome to contact us if your interested in joining the development process.

We're looking for:
- Android / iOS, PHP and Web developers
