Installation Instructions

This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing Wyoming Child Support Estimator on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. If the APK file does not automatically open with BlueStacks, right-click on it and select 'Open with...', then navigate to BlueStacks. Alternatively, you can drag-and-drop the APK file onto the BlueStacks home screen.
  4. Wait a few seconds for the installation to complete. Once done, the installed app will appear on the BlueStacks home screen. Click its icon to start using the application.

Using LDPlayer

  1. Download and install LDPlayer from https://www.ldplayer.net.

Wyoming Child Support Estimator APP is intended for Wyoming Attorneys only. The APP requires Android 5.1 or above.

Wyoming Child Support calculations are complicated and require knowledge of the statutes and the courts. There are numerous variations available to Wyoming courts in determining child support. This App does not take into consideration the deductions allowed by statute, the determinations relative to VA benefits, SS benefits or the ‘Self-Support Reserve.’ Only a qualified Wyoming Attorney can make those precise calculations. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO RELY ON THE CALCULATIONS IN THIS APP FOR LEGAL PURPOSES!

The calculations in this App are ESTIMATES only. They will not be 100% accurate due to a number of factors. However, they will give a BALL PARK estimate of presumed Wyoming child support if the accurate net income of both parents is known.

This APP will calculate Shared and Split custody within the above limitations. It will not calculate a combination of Shared and Split custody. If data is entered for both, only the Shared data will be calculated. It will display an error if incorrect Shared or Split data is entered. For example, Shared custody is 25% or below, or 75% or above. An error will display if Split custody is equal to or greater than the number of children. Split custody is ignored for one child.

The ‘Clear Calculations’ button only clears the calculations and not the entered data. That allows for different scenarios without the need to re-enter all the data. Pressing the HOME key on most phones will retain the entered data. Pressing the BACK key exits the program and clears the data.

For an unknown reason, upon opening the APP will sometimes close on its own. Simple restart the APP and it runs as designed.

This APP has taken over 2 months to write. There are thousands of potential calculations available in the tables. Because of this, the APP is very complicated and may contain programming errors. PLEASE report any errors encountered to Buddy Carroll at bcarroll@law4wyo.com.

The APP has been tested on 3 different phones and 1 tablet, each with a different Android version. The formatting may be awkward on some phones and particularly so on tablets. It displays correctly in portrait mode only. It will not scroll up in either portrait or landscape modes.

This developer has a free stand-alone program available to Wyoming Attorneys for Windows computers. It takes into consideration most of the common child support calculations attorneys deal with. It also contains pop-ups of the statutes and tables. That program will produce a printout that shows the data entered, the resulting calculations and can be made into an exhibit. It can be obtained by contacting Buddy Carroll at bcarroll@law4wyo.com . That program can be emailed to a Yahoo email address as a .zip file. Google gmail does not allow .zip files to be emailed. I had to put this APP on Google Play Store because Google does not allow APPs (.apk files) to be directly installed on phones or tablets above Android 5 or 6.
