About this app

New & Improved Fire Danger Index Calculator (McArthur Grasslands Mk 4 & 5 Index and the McArthur Forest Index Mk5). Used by fie control officers for calculating the danger of a fire.

The McArthur calculations are based on wind speed measured at 10m. Using the Wind Profile Power Law, we can now estimate wind speed at 10m from any height up to 10m.
