This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing Wildland Fire Behavior App on PC Windows and Mac.

100 hour fuel, once entered gets delete. Why

While this app provides output info and minimal fuel model description, it really needs fine dead fuel moisture calculator! I was drooling over over a I phone app that put this to shame.

Add in the ability to do FDFM imports or calcs. Would be good to turn on and off fuel types based on Fuel Model selected. Still does what is asked of it. 5 stars if you implement the above and make the interface cleaner/crisper.

Extremely useful app! As a Fire Effects Monitor and a Field Observer this App is very useful in the field. Well worth the money. (Thanks for including both the 13 and 40 FM)

About this app

wildfire surface spread rates
flame lengths
fireline intensities
heat per unit area
and flame depths!

NO ADS! Works without internet access, only needed for graphing capabilities.

An extension of the popular Rothermel surface fire spread model with full graphing capability and multiple model runs for easier interpretation and calibration. This is the fire model used throughout the country for management and research needs. Bring it anywhere.

Become more familiar with the model fire management depends on. All the fire behavior prediction you receive on or off the fireline has this model at its core. A more informed and observant wildland firefighter is a better one.

Enter the standard inputs of slope, wind speed, fuel moistures, and fuel model in multiple formats.

All 53 vegetation full models are included even the fully dynamic models; the standard 13 along with the new Scott and Burgan 40 are here.

Version 1.1 Update: The fuel model description page is now live. Photos and parameters of all 53 standard fuel models are now available. Fixed a small grammatical error as well.
