About this app

Mobile Trace is a research project by the Security Research Group at Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU).

On Android exists many properties like AndroidID and IMEI which can be queried by any app, sometimes they do not even require any permissions. With these properties an identity can be built to uniquely identify a device. With these so called Device Fingerprints your device can be tracked, even beyond the borders of an app.

With this application we research the extent of Device Fingerprinting and its countermeasures on Android and iOS devices.
