About this app

A convenient and very easy to use calculator to obtain the number of sheets of plasterboard, or sheetrock, required for any given wall or ceiling area.

This calculator shows the minimum number of sheets or boards but suggests an extra 10% for wastage but for very awkward areas you may need to increase this to 15%.

There are three radio buttons to choose the common sheet dimensions and there is also an "Exclude" data entry box to allow you to deduct areas for doors and windows. You will need to roughly work out how many square metres this will be beforehand.

It should be noted that the underlying algorithm works out best fit which is easier if the ceiling heights are less than a board height.

Plasterboard also is known as sheetrock, wallboard, gypsum board, or LAGYP.
